Your family’s information deserves thoughtful care.

This policy explains what Happy Hoglet collects, why we use it, how connected services work, and the choices available to you.

Privacy Policy

Happy Hoglet (“Happy Hoglet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools that help parents, guardians, and household organizers manage schedules, tasks, documents, reminders, messages, and other family information. This Privacy Policy applies to the Happy Hoglet website, application, emails, integrations, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and contact information, including your name, email address, password credentials, household name, and time zone.
  • Family-profile information an adult account holder chooses to add, such as names, roles, photos, activities, schools or workplaces, schedules, and assignments.
  • Calendar entries, tasks, reminders, notes, lists, contacts, documents, images, and other files submitted to the Service.
  • Emails and attachments forwarded to the Smart Inbox, including sender and recipient details, subject, body, message headers, and attached files.
  • Messages sent for support, registration, account management, or other communications.

Information from connected services

If you choose to connect a third-party account, we receive the information and permissions needed to provide the integration. For Google, this may include your Google account identifier and verified email address, authorization credentials, calendar events, and Google Tasks data, depending on the services you connect. See Section 3 for details.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and diagnostic information such as pages visited, actions performed, timestamps, browser and device information, IP address, and application errors.
  • Session cookies and local-storage settings used for authentication, security, preferences, navigation, and theme selection.
  • A configured time zone and household location, and location information you choose to provide, for time-, schedule-, and weather-related features.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide, maintain, secure, personalize, and improve the Service. This includes authenticating users; organizing household information; displaying and managing schedules and tasks; processing forwarded emails and uploads; generating user-facing suggestions; providing reminders, weather, and time-aware features; sending service messages; responding to support requests; preventing misuse; and diagnosing technical problems.

Some features use automated or artificial-intelligence processing to extract or summarize information and create user-facing recommendations. Recommendations should be reviewed by a household member before being accepted or relied upon. Happy Hoglet is an organizational tool and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, educational, or safety advice.

3. Google sign-in, Calendar, and Tasks

Google sign-in

If you sign in with Google, Happy Hoglet receives your Google account identifier, verified email address, and authentication response. We use this information to match the verified email address to an existing Happy Hoglet account, authenticate you, protect the login process, and maintain the external-login association. Google sign-in does not automatically connect Calendar or Tasks.

Google Calendar and Tasks connections

You may separately authorize Happy Hoglet to access Google Calendar events or Google Tasks. Calendar permission allows the Service to view and update events so connected schedules can be displayed and synchronized. Tasks permission allows the Service to view and update task lists and tasks so connected tasks can be displayed and synchronized. We request each permission only after you select the corresponding Connect action.

When you connect a service, we store your Google account identifier and email label, the scopes you granted, encrypted access and refresh credentials, credential expiration information, and connection timestamps. Offline credentials allow the Service to maintain a connection when you are not actively using Happy Hoglet. We do not ask for your Google password.

Use, sharing, and Limited Use

Google user data is used only to provide and improve the visible Happy Hoglet features you request, such as authentication, connected calendar views, task management, and synchronization. We do not sell Google user data, use it for targeted advertising, determine creditworthiness, or use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. We do not allow people to read Google user data except when you direct us to do so, when it is necessary for security or support and permitted by law, or when service providers process it solely to operate the requested feature under appropriate confidentiality obligations.

Happy Hoglet’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Disconnecting Google

You can disconnect Calendar or Tasks independently from the Integrations option in your Happy Hoglet user menu. Disconnecting removes Happy Hoglet’s stored credentials for that connection and stops future access through those credentials; it does not delete items already stored in either service. You may also revoke access through your Google Account connections. You may request deletion of Google-derived data already stored in Happy Hoglet by contacting us as described in Section 12.

4. How we share information

Household content is available to authorized members of the household according to the Service’s access controls. Information may also be shared when you direct an integration, export, invitation, email, or other feature to send it to another person or service.

We may provide information to vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, database operations, email delivery, weather, security, customer support, and artificial-intelligence processing. They may process information only as needed to provide contracted services and subject to applicable confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We may disclose information when required by law; to protect users, other people, or the Service; to investigate fraud or security incidents; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets subject to appropriate protections.

Happy Hoglet does not sell personal information or use family content for third-party targeted advertising.

5. Children and family information

Happy Hoglet is designed for parents, guardians, and other authorized adult household organizers. Children under 13 may not create an account or use the Service independently. An adult may add information about family members, including children, when the adult has authority to do so.

Parents and guardians may ask to review, correct, or delete information associated with their child and may ask us to stop further collection or use. If we learn that personal information was submitted directly by a child without appropriate authorization or consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

6. Data retention and security

We retain account and household information while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward when needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or maintain legitimate business records. Forwarded messages, uploaded files, connected data, and extracted recommendations are retained until deleted, the relevant connection or account is closed, or they are no longer reasonably needed. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include access controls and protection of stored Google authorization credentials using application-level encryption. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies and similar technology

Happy Hoglet uses cookies and browser storage necessary for sign-in, session continuity, security, preferences, and application operation. You may configure your browser to restrict these technologies, but essential parts of the Service may stop working.

8. Email communications

We may send transactional messages such as account confirmations, password resets, reminders, Smart Inbox notices, and service updates. You may unsubscribe from optional promotional messages using the link in those emails. Transactional or security-related messages may still be sent when necessary to operate or protect your account.

9. Your privacy choices

You can update certain profile, household, notification, and integration settings within the Service. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a privacy decision. You may exercise applicable rights without unlawful discrimination.

To make a request, email us from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity and authority over the household before fulfilling the request.

10. Third-party services and links

Happy Hoglet may link to or integrate with third-party services, including Google. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms and privacy policies. Review their policies before authorizing a connection or providing information directly to them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service, integrations, or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material. If a change materially expands how connected Google data is used, we will provide notice and obtain any consent required before applying the new use.

12. Contact us

Questions, privacy requests, or requests concerning Google user data may be sent to info@happyhoglet.com. Please include enough information to understand and verify your request, but do not send passwords or sensitive documents by ordinary email.
